Tell me about yourself.

Evan is an accomplished young angler and aspiring marine biologist working with the University of New England on many research projects. He has fished the waters of Long Island Sound for over 14 years, from both shore, kayak, and boat. He currently holds 11 CT State records, has dozens of tournament wins, and has been awarded "Angler of the Year" 4 years in a row by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. His specialties include: Seabass fishing, Slow Pitch, Trout fishing, Bass fishing, and fly fishing. Evan has been working at Black Hall Outfitters for just over 5 years now. He works as a sales associate in the Westbrook location, helping customers out with everything fishing, boating and kayak related. He enjoys talking to customers on improving their catch rates and size, working the docks for kayak rentals and talking gear needed to get you out catching more fish! His favorite thing to do in the shop is talk fishing/specific gear needed to catch your next trophy! Catch me at the Westbrook location for any fishing advice!

If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only pick three things to bring with you, what would they be?

If I were stuck on a deserted island and could only pick three things to take with me, I would have a  Game On Exo Jig in Silver, 1 oz, because of its versatility in catching almost any species of fish, a rod, and a reel to fish it with!

What would you consider as your “best day of summer”?

My best days of summer for me are the ones I get to spend in the middle of the sound on calm days, catching giant sea bass, fluke and stripers!
