March 30th - Time to Regain Some Sanity

Trout fishing has been fantastic, and even better now that the state has opened the season early- TIME TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE, and regain some sanity. .... Nymph below a float outperformed all else. Jig bite for pre-spawn largemouth has been decent fished slow and on drop offs. few key baits; Glide bite also over weeds, 2.8" Keitech Swimbait over rock pile drop off.

Crappie bite has also been on fire 1/16oz jig head tipped with a small grub tail. Every bite happened on the fall.

Reports of the Striper migration have everyone talking about the season being a few weeks ahead of schedule. larger fish are already deep into their northern move, and we the guys are getting tight up by Haddam neck and salmon river already. looks like a good start to what should be a promising Striper season. Flounder are starting to peek around, tidal rivers with good strong southern exposure for warming waters a good first bet.
