March 6th - Lotso Fish!

Spring is coming and the fishing is heating up. The state of Connecticut recently opened up trout fishing, in hopes to reduce crowds that would appear on opening day. This means trout anglers can fish in all waters, but TMA and TML areas remain as catch and release only. The DEEP is continuing to stock lakes, ponds and rivers with quality fish. Reports of good fishing have been coming in from all over the state. The best fishing remains in TMLs and TMAs. The top producing baits have been mealworms, flies, and spinners. Ice fishing is starting to slow, as many places are melting away. Anglers have been doing best on TML lakes jigging for trout. In the salt game, some anglers are doing well on holdovers in the Housatonic. Best lures for holdovers remain as swimbaits on jigheads. Reminder the black hall Westbrook location is now open.
