Our Epic ‘Striper Highway’ paves the road from the merge of the Black Hall, Lieutenant, and Connecticut Rivers out to and along the Old Lyme beaches where there are numerous structured rock piles and muscle beds for some of the best skinny water yak fishing along the east coast. This is truly a key destination kayak fishing spot in the Northeast.

As one of the top Old Town ‘premier’ retailers of fishing kayaks in the country, BHO is able to provide you with your own choice of 4 of the highest rated fishing kayaks from Old Town including; The Old Town BigWater PDL, The Old Town Salty PDL or an Old Town 106 or 120 Pedal Drive kayak for you to use on your BHO guided fishing charter. These are the most technically advanced, stable fishing yaks on the market, and the pedal drive systems keep your hands on your rod and reel... right where they belong!

Charter Information

Pricing for our charters:

  • $400 - Includes guide, kayak, tackle, bait, and gear
  • $350 - Includes guide, kayak, and bait
  • $250 - Guide only (You bring your own kayak and gear)

What is provided:

  • YOUR CHOICE of 1 of our 4 premier Old Town fishing kayaks – ALL with pedal drive systems (unless you bring your own kayak)
  • PFD/Life Jacket
  • Any fishing gear you wish to use (Bait provided by BHO)

What you need to bring:

  • Valid CT (or reciprocal state) fishing license
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Water
  • Appropriate Gear for the Weather Conditions
  • Cell Phone/Camera
  • Change of Clothes (you never know...)
  • Any Required Medications

Additional Information:

  • A 50% deposit will be required to save the date for your charter
  • Your Charter MUST be paid in full 72 hours prior to your trip
  • We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. In the event you wish to cancel your charter less than 24 hours in advance, your deposit will NOT be refunded. If we have to cancel your charter due to the weather, we will re-book your trip for a later date.
  • All fishing charter customers will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to hitting the water (a BHO insurance company requirement)
  • All fishing charter customers are responsible for having the proper fishing license. Our license, unlike charter fishing boats, does not cover anyone besides your guide.
  • Under no circumstances is any type of alcohol, controlled substances or weapons of any kind allowed for our guided fishing charter trips.

All of our charters will be available Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 5am and will run until 10am. You can also call us to discuss a CUSTOM start time or duration of time on the water that suits your schedule.

Absolutely! We’ll discuss ahead of time what is (and is not) suited to our trip and you’re welcome to bring some gear you’d like to use.

Like all charter companies, BHO will always default to local regulations, minimum sizes, etc, but yes, as long as it is legal and in-season you are welcome to keep fish you catch.

Of course ‘Gilla’ is happy to filet up your fish for you. Don’t forget a cooler, ice and a few zip lock bags if you plan on keeping your fish.

Unfortunately there are no refunds when the fish don’t cooperate. We’ll do our very best to give you every chance we can at catching the target species. But remember, there’s a reason they call it "fishing" and not "catching".

We at BHO are always monitoring the weather. As your charter date gets closer, we will be checking the forecast and in the event of inclement weather, we will contact you directly to discuss and reschedule for you.

Of course! We always welcome clients to use their own gear or kayak if you’d like, as long as the kayak make/model is appropriate for the type of fishing trip we have planned.
